A Changed Life

This has been one of the hardest weeks of my life. I have been through some storms but this week was a challenge spiritually and emotionally. This week I was involved in an incident where I saw some things I have not seen in the DR before or on a very minimal scale. I saw racism at its worst this week. It has clearly impacted my life and I have to say it impacted at least two other lives for eternity. God has given me a chance to share about this in church tomorrow so please keep this in your prayers. Without hesitation I say if it was not for G.O. Ministries it is a certainty someone would have died due to this incident.
“In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed” (1 Peter 1:6-7 NIV).

Philippians 1:3-6 (paraphrasing)
"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
John, I was but a flicker in your life last year when I met you in June on a mission trip there with WRCC, and we spent a day together in the Hole. But brother, in that short amount of time I could easily tell that God is working big and amazing things through you. You not only lit up the people of the Hole that day and the workers, but have provided to me a lasting impact. I pray for you often. You are focused & determined on providing God's will, and when others see that in you, it inspires them to want to do greater and bigger things through the Spirit! Hebrews 10:23-24 "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." Do not let your profound experience deter your focus, John. Consider Hebrews 12. Thank you for being so very strong and for being inspirational for others to want go achieve God's work. God bless you, I hope to see you this June when I return.

Your brother in Christ,
Jon Folsom
